About Us

Founded by Hidya Sahid, Birth Actually aims to provide a personalized woman-to-woman support for pregnant mothers as well as guidance for their birth partners.

Hidya first started supporting mothers as a breastfeeding volunteer peer counsellor back in 2012 and eventually pursued her doula certification in 2016. Over the years, she has supported over 200 families of diverse backgrounds welcome their babies through a holistic approach of care with evidence-based childbirth education and practices. 
 
It takes a village to raise a child. It takes a village to mother a mother too.

Our goals: Informed Births | Preventing Birth Trauma | Maternal Mental Wellness | Advocacy & Education  

On the side, we collaborate with agencies and individuals in our outreach efforts to both local and overseas communities.

We believe that every woman deserves to have the support that she needs to help her ease through such important life events.
